Breathe of Fresh Air!

The sea of endless doom scrolling and one off videos on YouTube can be cast aside. Dave delivers not only the focus and skills in a clear concise manner but much more. There is some theory and education that you can take with you to any synthesizer, sequencer or devise when creating a new song or live performance.
I am not the quickest in following along always and the ability to pause and rewatch or just think about and tweak things a bit differently then go back to the lesson and reset to the parameters Dave had put out. Plus, there are the files you can download to listen and delve into what you learned. I also really enjoy that there is a lesson and homework as it may be to create on your own.
I am getting the Digitone II course next. I hope there is an Octatrack training one day here. Don't forget the mapped out sheets available too.
I paid for my course so this is an honest review and if you are on the fence the money is well spent the lessons are there to go back to (I for one can forget how to do something if I am away from it for a minute).

The one course you need

Here's the thing: of course you can start to explore the complex thingie that is the Digitakt II all on your own. Or you could watch countless clips on Youtube & Co to learn things that you did not stumble upon on your own. All valid approaches, be my guest. However, if you are like me and want to get into your newly purchased machine fast and start making music with it vs. exploring it for the sake of exploring it, I would argue that you will hardly find a more concise course to get going with the Digitakt II fast. If you do, let me know. Bonus: David has a way of not explaining just the machine but also revisiting important concepts while being at it. So if you don't mind some extra hints on how to arrange, mix and even the occasional music theory, then this could exactly be the course you are looking for to get going with the Digitakt II.

Oh, and in case you are wondering: I did buy both at retail price with my own money, the machine and the course.

Great Course!

"Mastering Digitakt 2" builds nicely on the fundamentals taught in the first course. Dave Mech dives into more advanced sampling, sequencing tricks, and live performance techniques, which really help bridge the gap between basic operation and polished, creative tracks. The lessons are clear and well-structured, with practical hands-on exercises that encourage experimentation. If you already have the basics down and want to push your Digitakt skills further, this course is a solid, value-for-money follow-up.
